7/15/2008 - Our recent discovery in the Logan County personal property tax records provides a very strong link to the Peter Cline family. There are some additional documents to look at, particularly in Logan County VA and Pike County, KY. However, to confirm or deny the various Cline/Johnson theories, we need to conduct a DNA test that includes at least one, preferably two, descendants of each of the families that may be involved. Because of the personal property tax evidence, the naming traditions of the families, and the closer proximity between William Cline Johnson and the Peter Cline family, we should first test a direct male descendant of Peter Cline with a direct male descendant of William Cline Johnson. .
